So even though I'm overall really enjoying my rural medicine rotation, I'm also really missing Stephen. So much so that I spent a total of six hours in the car over the last two days so that I could go home for a night and see him. It scares me a little because this is kind of a foreshadowing of this fall: I am doing an away rotation in St. Louis in August (way beyond driving distance) and tentatively one in Tanzania in October (way, way beyond driving distance...although I am hoping that Stephen can come for part of this one). And that's only the beginning since I'm sure that residency will be 1000 times harder on us than this (and if there was any doubt in my mind, Grace's post yesterday convinced me otherwise). But one day at a time, right?
I'm not normally a yellow girl, and this striped sweater is the only item of yellow clothing that I have in my closet besides one t-shirt. It's a recent find from J. Crew Factory (like the polka dot sweater yesterday, another excellent copy of a sweater from last year that I loved but never found on sale) and a perfect mix of sunny yellow and a neutral beige. I think this made it more appealing to me as a girl who never wears yellow? And the timing was perfect for Marion's yellow trend-of-the-month.

Ugh...so sorry about the long distance between you two. I have been in that boat and I know how hard it can be. Hang in there...
ReplyDeleteAnd I actually OBSESSED over this sweater for much of last year. It was never available in my size at my local j.crew and I never really got around to buying it online (it was kinda expensive). So seeing it at Factory is awesome! I just love it on you.
Thanks so much for linking up Erika!

Distance is definitely hard! I guess on the plus side it makes our time together more special...
DeleteEven though I'm not normally a yellow fan, I obsessed over this sweater last year too and then tried to find it on Ebay! So I was definitely stoked when the Factory came out with their version :)
Thanks for hosting! I just love your blog.
Loving the yellow sweater. My husband and i did the long distance thing while i was finishing nursing. It was hard but i knew there was a light at the end of the tunnel. What a great experience to go to Tanzania. Hopefully your hubby can go with you. Good luck in this rotation.

You are so sweet, thanks for the kind and supportive words! Your comments always make my day better :)
DeleteI think you look great in the bright yellow - and the distance will just make the heart grow fonder, right?
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your blog so much that I nominated you for the Liebster Blog Award. Please Visit my site to pick up the award.
ReplyDeleteCute sweater! And I know those away rotations are hard, and I always found medical school hard anyway because Peter studied away from the house till all hours of the night. But I think residency is actually better than all of that! If you live in the same house, you at least usually get to go to bed together, even if he/you aren't able to get home in time for dinner, and that counts for a lot to me :)
ReplyDeleteLove the yellow. I made it part of my wedding palette. You and your husband are in my prayers!! Long distance is definitely not fun, but it's so exciting when you do get to see each other. It will be worth it!
